The increased remote work traffic has strained organisations’ VPN capacity with the result that working has slowed down or even stopped. One possible solution to this problem is VPN split tunnelling.

In VPN split tunnelling the capacity of resources related to remote work can be increased within a very short time period. VPN split tunnelling shall be implemented only if the organisation knows that it can implement it securely. In addition, when organisations consider VPN split tunnelling, they shall carry out their own risk assessments as to what information they can transfer outside the closed VPN tunnel.
