Information security now!

The summer season has mostly brought calm cyber weather, and June was no exception to this trend. The peak holiday season has also been reflected in the cyber security situation.

One of the most notable incidents in June was the BadBox 2.0 malware, which spread rapidly in mid-month. The malware family quickly rose to the top of detection statistics, remaining there into July. BadBox 2.0 malware has also been found pre-installed, particularly on budget Android devices from lesser-known manufacturers.

Reports related to phishing and scams have also increased during the summer. In addition to recurring favourites, the phenomenon also included seasonally typical themes such as CEO fraud.
