Information security now!

The hot July began with calm skies also in terms of cyber weather. Towards the end of the month, however, the outlook turned rainier once again.

In July, a large number of various scams were again encountered, similar to previous summer months. The most significant single case was an unusually extensive extortion message campaign.

Towards the end of the month, significant global vulnerabilities and some severe individual data breaches slightly worsened the overall cybersecurity outlook.

On the positive side, observations related to the BadBox 2.0 malware were halved from the peak levels seen in June. However, the threat posed by this malware has not yet disappeared, and it is still observed fairly frequently compared to other malware.
