Information security now!

January was largely rainy, with cyber phenomena continuing at a typical level. The growing use of AI assistants in organisations — and the related information security and cybersecurity challenges — generated discussion during the month. The first Cyber weather publication of the year also introduced a new look.

Cyber Weather 2026 refresh

New year, new look for Cyber weather! We have updated the visual design of Cyber weather and introduced changes to its content. Going forward, Cyber weather will consist of five main sections:

  1. Events of the past month
  2. Cyber weather phenomena
  3. Cyber weather in numbers
  4. Cyber weather forecast
  5. Developments, regulation and standards in the information security sector

The key indicators, overall overview and preparedness tips remain largely unchanged in the new Cyber weather, as does the section on developments, regulation and standards in the information security sector. The text pages have, however, been redesigned to improve readability and structure.

The familiar weather symbols and their meanings remain unchanged, ensuring continuity and comparability.
